ZAIRE L. CALLOWAY
While I was at Amaris's house, my brother texted me to pull up on him. I left immediately since he could have waited until Sunday dinner to talk to me, but he didn't. I wasn't ready to leave, but it seemed like Amaris was ready to get rid of me. She seemed scared of me these days, and I didn't understand why. She was my best friend. We used to talk about everything, but she'd become secretive as fuck. That shit rubbed me the wrong way. I worked hard to cultivate our relationship. I tried to make sure she never felt alone since she didn't have anybody. Yet, she pushed me away. The shit was infuriating. The look on her face when I got close to her bothered me. I knew I was out of line for sitting her on my lap when we were just friends. I did a lot of shit that didn't make sense when I was with her. It felt good to be in her presence. I felt seen. Like, I wasn't just Zaire Calloway, the youngest of the Calloway brothers. I was much more to her. Well, I used to be.
"Za, you hear me," my brother shouted, snapping his fingers in my face.
"Yeah, I heard you," I lied
"Wuh I say then lil' nigga," he questioned. I stared at him blankly. "Lying ass nigga," headded.
“Why you call me over here? Ma cookin' dinner tonight like always. Dis' shit couldn't wait?"
"Why you be actin' like yo' no pussy gettin' ass got sump'n better to do?"
“Nigga, don't act like you better than me 'cause you finally getting some pussy you can't destroy witcho demonic ass," I yelled. He chuckled.
"Callin' a demon demonic is a compliment, lil' nigga. You tryna hurt my feelings? Well, you can't. Thought you knew dat by now," he teased. I rolled my eyes and turned my attention to the door as it opened.
"Sup Za! Sup Demon," our twin brothers greeted us as they entered Demon's lair and dapped us up before sitting on a stool at the bar. Demon poured them a drink.
"Sup Alpha and Omega,” I mumbled, still bothered by my interaction with Amaris
“Wrong witchu,” Alpha asked. I shook my head
"The lil' nigga tired of beatin e meat,” Demon joked before sipping his drink.
“Fuck you," I spat. They laughed “Why you call dis' meeting nigga? I ain't come fuh jokes."
"Why you so uptight, Za," Omega asked. I didn't respond since I didn't want them in my business.
"Nigga you know we can read minds, right," they questioned rhetorically.
"Wuh? Amaris still won't gi' you dat virgin pussy," Demon teased Alpha and Omega laughed. "I mean, I get it. Virgin pussy the best pussy out dey. My girl shit be havin' me seizin' up in dis' bitch," he said, giving us a demonstration. I sucked my teeth.
“Weh sis in law at anyway," the twins asked. He nodded upstairs.
"Sleep."
"Still? I thought e evolved past dat,” Alpha stated.
"She did. She need the extra rest cause Ma got her lookin' fuh MJ," he replied. My ears twitched.
"MJ," I questioned.
"Fuh wuh? I thought e ascended," Omega said.
"Me too, but A sensed him on earth. Said e presence faint do'," Demon explained. I sat erect.
"Dat's why you call dis' meetin' We gotta find him b'fo'." I was about to say, but stopped because I didn't want to even think about it.
“Yep," Demon barely got out before clutching his stomach and shattering his glass on the counter. “Shit," he growled. Suddenly, his stomach copied him. The three of us glanced at each other. I covered my nose as my brother struggled to stand. He always smelled like hellfire when his stomach was empty. He was trying to use the liquor to treat his hunger pangs, but it didn't work. All of a sudden, I smelled sunlight before she appeared beside him. “Why you up, Angel," Demon asked.
“Drink,” was all she said before bearing her neck to him. He opened his mouth, his golden fangs grew out before he sank them into her, squeezing her titties like she was a Capri Sun. The shit would've been weird, but my brother did shit most humans didn't.
"Demon," Angel called him as his hand trailed down her body and went toward her center. His eyes turned black as he sank his fangs deeper into her. He ripped hergown and his pants, grabbing his manhood and shoving it into her. Alpha and Omega shook their heads and attempted to retreat, but the energy emanating fromthem froze our bodies.
"Grrrr," Demon growled as he slowly pumped into her, trying to find his footing like she was a buck he was trying to break. My eyes watered as I tried to close them. He grabbed her hair and pinned her to the bar before plunging into her deeper. Rougher. Quicker, gradually speeding his pace.
“Dat's all you got, bitch ass nigga,” she taunted. He smirked and pulled her arms behind her back before speeding up more. By this time, I'd been trying to teleport somewhere else, but I forgot that wasn't my ability.
"Angel, wake up," Alpha and Omega ordered telepathically, causing her to open her eyes. Finally, the two of them disappeared. We gasped.
"Wuh took y'all so long,"' I asked as I panted.
“Nigga we bin' tryna wake e ass up since e appeared. E sleep so damn hard," they responded. I shook my head, trying to get the image out of my head. I would've rather stayed with Amaris's scary ass than deal with my sick ass brother. "Let's get the fuck out here 'fo' dey-,' they were about to say before we heard thunder. The three of us jumped up and headed toward the door. Demon appeared before we got there. Nigga was naked with Angel's blood dripping from his mouth.
“Weh y'all niggas goin'? Our meeting not over," he smirked
”It was over when you,” the twins' voices trailed off as the nigga grabbed his dick and began stroking it. The three of us spun around and headed to the living room. When we got in there, he was sitting on the couch fully dressed. "Fuck, nigga. Stop doindat shit."
“Don't be jealous cause my girl know how to teleport, and y'all don't, even though y'all a thousand years older," he teased. They frowned.
“Nigga dat's the least of our worries," they said. Demon slowly turned to me.
“Got sump'n to say lil' nigga?'
“How you gon' do her like dat een front of us? She was sleep, so you.. vou-"
"I wuh, Zaire? Wuh I do," he asked. I swallowed hard, but didn't say what I was thinking. "Don't come in my domain and judge me fuh bein' a fuckin' demon. You ain't got a fuckin' clue," he barked
"Yo chill," Alpha and Omega pleaded.
"Tell dat lil' nigga to chill. No pussy gettin' ass nigga judgin' me," he pushed.
"Fuck you,” I barked as I walked out. I was tired of his shit. He acted like what just happened was normal. I had heard the rumors about my brother, but seeing him in action was something I couldn't ignore. He was a demon, but that shit didn'tmake it okay. When I was in my car, I closed my eyes, trying to erase that shit fromit, but when I opened them, Angel was in my passenger seat.
"Hey, Za Za," she said through the purest smile. I mirrored it.
"Sup, A,” I said. Then, a frown polluted my face. "You uh... okay?'
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be," she innocently asked. I turned away from her, forgetting that she was asleep for most of what happened. She stroked my cheek. I closed my eyes as her warmth enveloped me. I missed her so much, always holding on to the peace she used to make me feel. "Zaire, I'm sorry."
"Fuh wuh," I questioned as my eyes snapped open. She stared at me. "Why you always tek'n up fuh dat nigga, Angel?"
"You don't get it."
"Of course, I don't and I never will,'' I spat. My chest heaved as I tried to catch my breath.
"You will. One of these days, you won't have a choice," she said before she disappeared. What the fuck did she mean by that? There was nothing in this world that would make me pretend that the shit Demon did was okay. Our mama, brothers, and Angel couldcoddle him, but I wasn't helping them do the shit. There was a time when you couldn't tell me anything about him. But ever since she came into the picture, he just wasn't the same Demon I loved. Not wanting to go home for Sunday dinner, I dialed Cat'snumber.
"Hello," she answered on the third ring.
“Aye, I'm finna slide through,” I told her.
"No, you not, Zaire. I told you I was done. Ain't like you gon' mek it worth my while no way,” she chastised. I sighed.
"You don't know dat. I might," I lied. She sucked her teeth.
"Bye, nigga," she said before hanging up. I shook my head. Fuck! I needed somewhere to go. I didn't want to be around my family right now. I cranked my car and went to the first place that came to mind. I just hoped being there would give me peace of mind like it used to because I needed it desperately.
